Happy Christmas from Send a Cow
20.12.2011
All the staff at Send a Cow, in the UK and Africa, would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas.
On behalf of the families we work with, thank you so much for your generosity this year. The economic climate continues to affect everyone, but despite this, thanks to your ongoing support, we remain able to deliver practical, hands on support to over 14,500 families in rural Africa.
Christmas is a particularly important time of year for Send a Cow to raise funds and we’re delighted that thousands of you have come back to buy our life changing gifts once more. Thank you, each gift really does make a big, big difference to the farmers we support.
Chickens, Sheep, Keyhole Gardens, Rabbits and Tip Taps have been our top sellers this year and it has been wonderful chatting to you as you choose your presents for friends and family. (Don’t forget, if you’re a last minute shopper you can still right up until Christmas Eve online!)
A big thank you also, to those of you who have given to our Christmas Appeal this year. Your donations, along with messages of support for African families written on paper chains, are flooding in! We can’t wait to take our ‘paper chain of hope’ to Africa in the New Year; it is always such a special experience sharing words of support from the UK with African families in need.
Staff visiting families in Lesotho in January this year were moved to tears as they read out kind words sent in by supporters last Christmas and next year looks set to be just as emotional! Here are just a few of the paper chain messages that have come in so far:
“May the year ahead bring you health and happiness”
“We admire you as you work so hard to make the most of the help you have received. We wish you all well.”
“To help one another makes a great community spirit and spreads happiness”
“We will be thinking of you this Christmas God Bless and have a happy Christmas”
Once again, thank you for your support. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and are looking forward to a new year of bringing hope and joy to families in Africa.
“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”
Luke 2:14
