Be a Local Link
Local Links are volunteers who regularly give their time to Send a Cow. This is a very flexible role which allows you to use the skills, contacts and time you have to help us raise awareness and funds.
Syd and Carole Delve, from Loxhore in Devon are Local Links:
“We have held a coffee morning at our house once a year for the past four years and raised nearly £1,500. After this year’s coffee morning we had lots of books and bric a brac left over so we have been to two car boot sales and raised another £124 with another one still to do.”
Here are a few examples of how a Local Link may use their time:
- Help a local Ambassador to organise speaking opportunities to groups. These may include schools, youth groups, churches, gardening clubs, Rotary clubs and women's groups.
- Talk to the public at a regional event where we have a stand. For example, some volunteers may have a stand at an agricultural fair, gardening fair or a community festival.
- Organise regular fundraising events, such as coffee mornings, sponsored walks or African suppers.
If you would like to become a Local Link please call Carolyn Aitken on 01225 871 921 or email carolyn.aitken@sendacow.org.uk for an informal discussion.
