Be an Ambassador
Send a Cow is looking for outgoing and enthusiastic people around the UK to become an Ambassador. We need your help to increase awareness about our work in your community and to help us raise vital funds. By giving your time to us you can help families in Africa to work their way out of poverty.
“I became an Ambassador after hearing a talk about Send a Cow at my Rotary Club. I heard about how impoverished farming families have been empowered, and was so inspired I decided to help out.”

The role of an Ambassador is to:
- Talk to groups in your community about our work and tell them how they can help. These may include Rotary clubs, churches, schools, gardening clubs and women's groups.
- Help us fundraise by organising your own events or by inspiring others to do so.
- Look for local opportunities to raise awareness about Send a Cow. For example, have a stand at a local event, talk to the local media or distribute literature.
“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all those who are destitute.”
Proverbs 31: 8
If you are interested in becoming an Ambassador please call 01225 871 912 or email carolyn.aitken@sendacow.org.uk for an informal chat. This is a good opportunity for you to ask any questions you have and to find out more about the role. We would also recommend that you read through our Ambassador pack. This contains a role description.
If you would like to apply please complete an application form. We will then arrange an informal interview by phone or face to face where possible, so that we can make sure this is the right role for you. We will also let you know if there are other volunteers in your area and how you can get started.
New Ambassadors attend a two day training course to help prepare them for the role. This includes learning more about Send a Cow, presentation skills and what resources are available. Ongoing support is also provided.
