How we use your money
Send a Cow has enabled thousands of African people to find practical, long lasting ways to escape poverty. Last year, almost 3,000 families started a journey out of poverty with our help.
Our work is made possible thanks to the generous support we receive from individuals, churches, schools, youth groups, rotary clubs, trusts, institutions and grant making organisations - to name a few! The list goes on.
And it’s not just financial donations that support our work. Thousands of hours of volunteers’ time and donations in kind all help to benefit farmers in Africa.
With every donation Send a Cow receives, we pledge to help increase the health, wealth and happiness of farmers in Africa, supporting our two main charitable aims:
- To help farmers and communities in Africa escape poverty for good by providing them with quality help, training and support; and
- To bring Africa to UK classrooms through our award winning school resources
Every penny counts. Whatever you give, however big or small, you can be sure that we’ll spend your money wisely.
Of the £4.1m we received last year, 74% was spent on our charitable aims. We spent 1 pence in every pound on governance costs and because raising money costs money, we spent 25 pence in every pound to raise the vital funds we need.
As a practical and innovative charity, we’re always looking for ways to make every penny go further and increase our cost effectiveness.
Partnerships, joint ventures, match funding and increasing in–country fundraising are just some of the ways we are raising more funds to support our life changing work and make your money go even further.
