For over 25 years Send a Cow has been helping African families grow enough food to eat, sell their produce and develop small businesses that last. By providing livestock, seeds, training and support to families in seven countries in Africa, we are enabling millions of people to leave poverty behind for good.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced individual to take a leading role in shaping and developing Send a Cow's Ambassador Network. The successful candidate will be joining the organisation at an exciting period of growth, and have a unique opportunity to play a key role in taking volunteering for the organisation to a new level.
Our mission is to give communities and families the hope and the means to secure their own futures from the land. Through the Ambassador Network, you will be responsible for raising the profile of Send a Cow as a charity of choice for people wanting to do something to end poverty in Africa.
We want to develop and build on your existing experience in volunteer management, to enable you to be ‘all that you can be’ as leader in recruitment, development and motivator of a diverse group of volunteers. You will be given the support and autonomy to deliver a strategic, innovative and vibrant Ambassador Volunteer Network.

PROGRAMMES DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Based in Zambia
Send a Cow (SAC) is an international development charity whose vision is a world without poverty and malnutrition. SAC’s mission is to enable poor rural families in Africa to attain food and livelihood security by developing strong community groups and sustainable agricultural systems which integrate crops and livestock. Operating in 7 African countries, SAC partners with groups of smallholder farmers to work their way out of poverty, develop sustainable farms that ensure food security for the families and income from surplus production.
SAC Zambia currently works in partnership with Heifer and Self-Help Africa to fight poverty and transform lives through its unique approach on livestock development and sustainable agriculture. As a newly opened office in Zambia, SAC Zambia is looking to recruit a Programmes Development Manager (PDM) to assist the Country Director in the exciting set up, development and expansion of the programme. For this reason, the PDM is expected to be a dynamic, energetic and self motivated person to lead a new but effective and progressive programme team in the delivery of Send a Cow Zambia programme operations.
