For 25 years Send a Cow has been helping thousands of African families grow enough food to eat, sell their produce and develop small businesses that last. Providing livestock, seeds, training and ongoing support, we help families leave poverty behind for good.
We are now entering an exciting period of growth. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Resources and working closely with Finance Managers in our Country Programmes, you’ll be responsible for coordinating and supporting the international finance function, ensuring that all stages of the financial process from planning to reporting both internally and externally are completed effectively. In addition to a regulatory role, you will also be improving and building the financial capacity of staff in Africa and will be able to make two to three overseas trips a year to carry out internal audits and provide relevant training to our programme staff.
Ideally professionally qualified, you’ll have at least two years’ relevant experience. Organized with excellent attention to detail, you’ll have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and have sound experience of reviewing financial information prepared by others. Above all, you’ll enjoy working in a small team which is committed to bringing our life changing work to thousands of families in Africa.

KENYA PROGRAMME
Based in Kakamega, Kenya
Send a Cow (SAC) is an international NGO set up in 1988 now working in 8 African countries. Its mission is to enable disadvantaged families in rural Africa to attain food and livelihood security by developing sustainable agricultural systems which integrate crops and livestock with social development. SAC has been working in Kenya through Heifer International (K) for 13 years. The organization is now seeking to establish an independent programme in Kenya initially based in Kakamega.
We are seeking to appoint a Finance coordinator for this starting programme. The successful candidate should be at least CPA II/ B. Com Accounting or higher. S/he will need to demonstrate effective preparation and management of budgets, financial accounts, reports & other financial systems. Experience of working with an NGO, restricted grants management and delivering training to community groups are desirable.
