African proverbs

African proverbs

Wise words from the elders

These two sources of African proverbs are really useful for teachers of all age groups for assemblies and discussion starters. Proverbs can tell you a lot about the values of different cultures and challenge prejudice and assumptions. Why not use one in an assembly as a thought starter, or get your pupils to make up their own 'wise' sayings?
