Comparing Slum & Rural Life in Uganda

Comparing Slum & Rural Life in Uganda

Lessons from Africa

This KS3 and 4 Geography and Citizenship lesson resource enables teachers to contextually explore a comparison of urban and rural areas in an Less Economically Developed Country (LEDC) through examples of two young people. This is presented alongside introducing students to some of the dynamics of rural to urban migration in developing countries, showing some of the pros and cons of each. The resource includes a video walkthrough of the slums, photo activities and an interactive annotated Google map that shows the daily routes of each child.

This video is a walk-through of a Slum in Kampala, Uganda. It is for use in schools to help pupils think about the differences between life in rural and urban Uganda and the differences between their lives.

Sorry but you'll need to download the videos separately as they are too large to include in the bundle
