For many of the families we work with in Africa, the daily challenges of food security are compounded by the ever present threat of AIDS. In Lesotho, Western Kenya and Rwanda in particular, adults who would normally be working, bringing up children and caring for the elderly are too ill to carry on.

It’s a simple fact, but for anti –retroviral medication to work, people need to be well nourished. Our agricultural…

I’m Jen, I’m the Direct Marketing and Web Manager, and one of my most important projects of the year is creating our catalogue of virtual gifts for Christmas.

Creating the list of gifts for this year’s catalogue was a huge task. It had been a few years since we had really reviewed the type of gifts that we offer, and people had kept telling me how important the training is – even more important than the livestock.

The United Nations estimates that 1.1 billion people worldwide rely on unsafe drinking-water sources. Poor water conditions and limited access cause untold problems for an African family: disease; malnutrition; unsanitary conditions; and poor crop growth to name just a few.…
