Copenhagen Accord - let's keep moving forward
21.12.2009
The meeting of world leaders in Copenhagen provided a chance for change, a chance to help the millions of poor people that are affected so hugely by the onset of climate change and who have to face its ravages upfront.
So, here at Send a Cow, along with most of the world, we are hugely disappointed by the lack of decisive action. Progress over the coming year will be crucial if global leaders are to deliver the agreement that we all need to safeguard our future. We urge them to act now to get talks back on track.
Research shows that for farming families in our projects in Africa, climate change is already a harsh reality. Erratic rainfall patterns are making their harvests less and less reliable, and frequent floods and droughts are damaging their lands.
It’s for this reason that care for the environment is at the heart of Send a Cow’s approach. Our sustainable agricultural projects are enabling thousands of smallholder farmers to combat the effects of climate change and live in harmony with their land.
Let’s work together to deliver a fair deal for all in 2010.
