By taking part in Read to Feed, you will be raising money to help some of the poorest communities in Africa.
Every book read during the scheme will help provide training and gifts such as livestock, seeds and trees to equip families with skills and knowledge so they can feed their families and leave poverty behind for good. And because they pass that help on, every book read makes a real difference, starting a chain of giving in Africa.
For example if a class of 30 children read 10 books each for 25p a book from 10 sponsors, they could raise £750 - enough to provide a high-quality dairy cow to a family or 300 fruit tree saplings. Just think what a whole yeargroup could do!

"My Year 1 Class took part in the Read to Feed sponsorship activity. Although some of the children are just starting to read, many of them made a real effort. We undertook the activity in parallel to our Book Week. Through this activity we were able to generally explore the different issues of poverty facing the continent as a whole."
