Our Foundation Series reports are a great place to start. Drawing together our own research with independent evaluations, case studies and comment, we have published three reports so far, focusing on climate change, organic agriculture and social development.
Highlighting the holistic nature of our work, they are a solid introduction to Send a Cow and also a useful reference point for ongoing debate around issues such as environmental impacts of farming, social development and natural farming vs use of fertilisers:

Uganda
- Multiplier Research Report. Carried out by an independent consultant in Uganda to examine the wider impact of Send a Cow’s work.
- Sustainable Agriculture Review, 2009. Jointly commissioned review by Send a Cow UK and Send a Cow Uganda to consider sustainable organic agriculture practices in the Uganda programme.
- Northern Uganda Stockaid Extension Programme Final Evaluation Review 2010. Conducted by independent consultants for Send a Cow UK to assess the impact of the NUSEP programme on the participating women and their families.
Rwanda
- Natural Resource-based Agriculture in Send a Cow Rwanda Review, 2008. Carried out by Send a Cow UK.
Ethiopia
- Spreading Sustainable Agriculture, 2009. Sustainable Organic Agriculture Review of the Ethiopian Programme.
- End of Term Evaluation of Sustainable Environmental Development Action Project, 2010. Evaluation of integrated dairy and horticulture development project by independent consultants.
- Wali Dabarsa Women's Livelihood Improvement Initiative, 2010. Internal review of the Heifer International funded project with Rural Organisation for the Betterment of Agro-pastoralists.
Lesotho
- Send a Cow Lesotho Evaluation Report. An external evaluation of all aspects of the programme, conducted in 2008.
Kenya
- Sustainable Organic Agriculture and Social Development Assessment, Send a Cow/ Heifer Kenya Western Region 2007. Carried out by Send a Cow UK.
- Western Kenya Mid-Term Review Impact Assessment, 2006. Carried out by independent consultants for Send a Cow and Heifer Kenya.
Cameroon
