Our volunteers encourage people in their community to support our work and fundraise for us. Giving over 16,000 hours of their time, speaking to thousands of people, and raising over £150,000 last year alone, they are a real driving force. Without them, Send a Cow simply couldn’t help so many African families leave poverty each day.
We always need more volunteers across the UK to help us raise money, increase awareness and run events. If you decide to join the team, you’ll get plenty of support, training, resources and advice and probably make some new friends too!
We need outgoing and enthusiastic people to inspire others and help raise vital funds in their community. Ambassadors give presentations to schools, churches and clubs and tell people how they can help Send a Cow. They may also have a stand at a local event or organise some fundraising themselves.
We are looking for self-motivated Fundraisers who are passionate about the work of Send a Cow, people who can commit to raising vital funds for our work. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are willing to take part in and are able to raise awareness of local and national fundraising opportunities. These include all sizes of local and challenge events from fetes, craft sales or coffee mornings to marathons, continental cycling and trekking
We are also looking for committed people to take on the senior volunteering role of Regional Co-ordinator in a number of locations across the country. This role involves leading a team of Ambassadors, providing support and encouragement to them; helping to interview new volunteers; organising regional meetings; and liaising with staff at Head Office to ensure everyone gets the support they need.
Local Links support our work by regularly fundraising for us, helping to organise stands at events, giving out our literature or encouraging local groups to invite an Ambassador to speak to them.
If you belong to a church, then this could be the role for you. We are looking for Church Representatives to encourage their church to support Send a Cow through prayer and financial support. If you’d like to organise a service in your church we have a range of worship materials to help your congregation engage with poverty in Africa.
Many of our volunteers would love to give more talks to more groups, but they need an invitation to speak. Do you have time which you could use to find talks for our Ambassadors? Could you write letters or emails to group leaders, school teachers or churches offering them a speaker from Send a Cow? If so we’d love to hear from you, and will give you as much help as we can to get you started as a Talks Finder.
