Why education is important

At Send a Cow we value the importance of making a positive change here as well as in Africa. Helping children in the UK to become aware of other children in African countries gives us the opportunity to encourage them to care and feel empowered to change the world that we will leave them – this is our investment in the future.

Education also helps children to see themselves as global citizens, and opens them up to the reality that how they live their lives affects people right across the world.

Just like our own multiplier effect in Africa, where each person we help goes on to help 10 others, we know that every child we inspire in the UK will go on to inspire their friends and family too. Meaning that we can make sure the African families that we work with will not be forgotten by the next generation.

We believe that as young people understand more and more about the lives of families in Africa, they will be the catalysts for the change that we all want to see.
