Saving the Earth for future generations
22.04.2010
Today Send a Cow celebrates World Earth Day, joining the international movement to ensure a healthy and sustainable planet for us all.
Among other events around the world, the 40th anniversary of Earth Day will culminate in an organised rally in Washington D.C. to protest against the failure of governments to agree on a comprehensive climate bill – something that we are hoping will change at the upcoming climate summits this year.
The farmers we work with feel the devastating effects of climate change first-hand as soils become degraded and weather patterns change leading to increased periods of drought or flood. The techniques we teach help to protect farmers against these effects so they can grow enough food to feed themselves and their families.
Here at Send a Cow we love to grow our own fruit and veg. The lovely Spring weather has brought out the green shoots of our new crops. We encourage everyone to get outside and start growing their own and our Bag Garden kits allow even the novice to grow healthy and plentiful veg. The kits, in which 50 vegetables can be grown at once, are great for gardens, or even patios and doorsteps!
Kits are available online for just £12. So join with us on Earth Day and do your bit to save the planet for future generations.
